Iftheairbagisinflated,
theairbagwillnot
functionagainandmustbe
replacedimmediately.Ifthe
airbagisnotreplaced,the
unrepairedareawillincreasethe
riskofinjuryinacollision.
TheSRSconsistsof:

driverandpassengerairbag
modules(whichincludethe
inflatorsandairbags),
•
oneormoreimpactandsafing
sensors,
•
•
areadinesslightandtone
andtheelectricalwiringwhich
connectsthecomponents.
Thediagnosticmodulemonitorsits
owninternalcircuitsandthe
supplementalairbagelectrical
systemwarning(includingthe
impactsensors),thesystemwiring,
theairbagsystemreadinesslight,
theairbagbackuppowerandthe
airbagignitors.
Determining if the system is
operational
TheSRSusesareadinesslightin
theinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthe
system.RefertotheAirbag
readinesssectioninthe
Instrumentationchapter.Routine
maintenanceoftheairbagisnot
required.
