4x4 system general information

Yourvehicleisequippedwitha4x4system.This4x4systemcanuseall
fourwheelstopowerthevehicle.Thishelpsincreasetraction,enabling
youtodriveyourvehicleoverterrainandroadconditionsnotnormally
traveledbytwo-wheeldrivevehicles.
Powerisalwayssuppliedtothefrontwheelsandtotherearwheels
throughthetransaxleandRotaryBladeCoupling(RBC)unitthatallows
youtoselectafour-wheeldrivemodebestsuitedforyourcurrent
drivingconditions.
ForthelubricantspecificationandrefillcapacityofthePowerTake-Off
UnitandrearaxlerefertotheCapacitiesandspecificationschapter.
Operating modes of the 4x4  system
The4x4systemfunctionsintwomodes:

four-wheeldrivewithfullpower
deliveredtothefrontaxleatall
times,andtotherearaxleas
requiredforincreasedtraction.
Thisisappropriatefornormal
on-roadoperatingconditions,

suchasdryroadsurfaces,wetpavement,snowandgravel.

tobothaxlesatalltimes.Itis
onlyintendedforsevereor
LOCK
off-roaddrivingconditions,such
asdeepsnowandice(whereno
dryorwetpavementremains
uncovered)andshallowsandormud.
