Buckle the child into the seat according to the child
restraintmanufacturer’sdirections.

Whenyourchildrestraintisnotinuse,secureitinthe
vehiclewiththeseatbeltorremoveitfromthevehicle.
Don’tleaveitlooseinthevehicle.Inasuddenstopor
collision,itcouldstriketheoccupantsorseatbacksand
causeseriouspersonalinjury.
LowerAnchorsandTetherforCHildren(LATCH)
Eachvehicle,exceptcommercialcargovehicles,isequipped
with the child restraint anchorage system called LATCH,
which stands for LowerAnchors and Tether for CHildren.
TwoLATCHchildrestraintanchoragesystemsareinstalled
onallsecond-rowseatsandinthecenterpositiononall3rd
rowfold-in-floorseats.Second-rowseatsalsofeaturetether
strapanchorages,locatedintherearsurfaceoftheseatback.
In addition, all 3-passenger bench seats and 3rd row fold-
in-floor seats are equipped with a child restraint tether
anchoratthecenterseatingposition.
LatchAnchorages
Whenusingthetetheranchoragesintheoutboardseat-
ingpositions,ensurethatthestrapisroutedoverthetop
oftheseatbackandundertheheadrestraintbetweenthe
head restraint posts. Except for bench seats with split
seatbacks,whenthetetheranchorageisusedinthecenter
seatingposition,thestrapshouldbepositionedstraight
