shiftupdependingonvehiclespeed.

Inmanualshiftmode,gearsdonotshiftup

automatically.Donotruntheenginewith
thetachometerneedleintheREDZONE.If
thetachometerneedleenterstheRED
ZONE,youmayfeelengine-braking
becausethefueldeliverywillbestoppedto
protecttheengine.However,thisdoesnot
indicateanabnormality.
Whendepressingtheacceleratorfully,the
transaxlewillshifttoalowergear,
dependingonvehiclespeed.
NOTE
Ifthegearscannotbeshifteddownwhen
l
drivingathigherspeeds,thegearposition
indicatorwillflashtwicetosignalthatthe
gearscannotbeshifteddown.
Iftheautomatictransaxlefluid(ATF)
l
temperaturebecomestoohigh,thereisthe
possibilitythatthetransaxlewillswitchto
automaticshiftmode,cancelingmanual
shiftmodeandturningoffthegearposition
indicatorillumination.Thisisanormal
functiontoprotecttheAT.AftertheATF
temperaturehasdecreased,thegear
positionindicatorilluminationturnsback
onanddrivinginmanualshiftmodeis
restored.
