ECM* Inducer Motor Kit Cancels: IIK 398B-60-5 IIK 320A-60-2 4-1-92 Installation Instructions Part No. 319346-751 NOTE: Read the entire instruction manual before starting the installation. INTRODUCTION This instruction covers installation of the ECM Inducer Motor Kit (Part No. 319346-751) in the variable-speed, upflow and downflow, gas-fired condensing furnaces. SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS Installation and service of heating equipment can be hazardous due to gas and electrical components.

Only trained personnel should install or service heating equipment. Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance functions such as cleaning and replacing filters. All other operations should be performed by trained service personnel. When working on heating equipment, observe precautions in the literature, and on tags and labels attached to the unit. Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Have a fire extinguisher available. DESCRIPTION AND USAGE The ECM Inducer Motor Kit can be utilized to restore units having an inducer motor assembly in need of repair. The kit contains the following items: Motor, wheel, and motor mount assembly Cover plate gasket Stainless steel screw Screws for plastic (wide-pitch thread) Installation Instruction (1) (1) (5) (12) (1) 5. Disconnect motor leads from inducer control box. 6. Remove screws securing left mounting bracket to collector box and plastic inducer housing; save left mounting bracket. 7. Remove screw securing top mounting bracket to coupling box. 8. Remove 8 screws securing plastic cover plate to inducer housing; save top mounting bracket. 9. Carefully remove motor assembly from inducer housing. 10. Remove and discard old cover plate gasket located in groove on inducer housing. Step 2–Installation of New Motor Assembly 1. Install new cover plate gasket in groove on inducer housing (it may be necessary to temporarily hold gasket in place with small pieces of electrical tape). 2. Position new motor assembly on inducer housing–ensure gasket is properly seated.
