2005 Toyota Prius Reference Owners Guide

OVERVIEW
Fuel tank door opener and cap
Hood release lever
To release the hood Pull the lever  inside vehicle.
To open the hood Insert finger through  the
opening between the hood and grill. Pull  up on
the catch lever inside the compartment and  lift
the hood.
Engine compartment
To open the fuel tank door from  driver side Pull
up on the opener.
To remove the fuel tank cap  Turn the cap
counterclockwise 90 degrees, then turn it an
additional 30 degrees. Pause slightly before
removing it.
The removed cap can be stored  on the fuel
tank door.
To replace the fuel tank cap Turn  clockwise until
a click is heard. If not tightened  enough, Check
Engine “    ”  indicator may illuminate.
Windshield washer fluid tank
Brake fluid reservoir
Engine oil filler cap
Engine coolant reservoir
Inverter reservoir tank
Fuse block/Jumpstart access points
Radiator and A/C condenser
Engine oil level dipstick
NOTE: MAINTAIN GASOLINE IN THE TANK AT  ALL
TIMES. SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE HYBRID SYSTEM
CAN OCCUR IF THE VEHICLE RUNS OUT  OF GAS.
Back door
Note: Regularly scheduled maintenance, including
oil changes, will help extend the  life of
your vehicle and maintain performance.
Please refer to the “Owner’s Warranty
Information Booklet,” “Scheduled
Maintenance Guide” or “Owner’s Manual
Supplement.”
To open the back door Push the  opener switch
under the handle, and raise the door.
