Thelightmaynotturnoffimmediatelyeven
ifthesurroundingareabecomeswell-lit
becausethelightsensordeterminesthatit
isnighttimeifthesurroundingareais
continuouslydarkforseveralminutessuch
asinsidelongtunnels,trafficjamsinside
tunnels,orinindoorparkinglots.

ØDonotshadethelightsensorby
adheringastickeroralabelon
thewindshield.Otherwisethelight
sensorwillnotoperatecorrectly.
Inthiscase,thelightturnsoffifthelight
switchisturnedtotheOFFposition.(Ifthe
lightswitchisturnedtotheAUTOposition
againafterturningittotheOFFposition,
thelightturnson/offdependingonthe
surroundingbrightness.)
Light sensor
WhentheheadlightswitchisintheAUTO
positionandtheignitionswitchisturnedto
theACCorLOCKposition,theheadlights,
otherexteriorlightsanddashboard
illuminationwillturnoff.

ØThelightsensoralsoworksasa
rainsensorfortheauto-wiper
control.Keephandsandscrapers
clearofthewindshieldwhenthe
ignitionswitchisintheON
positionasfingerspinchedorthe
wipersandwiperbladesdamaged
whentheyactivateautomatically.
Ifyouaregoingtocleanthe
windshield,besurethewipersare
turnedoffcompletely-thisis
particularlyimportantwhen
clearingiceandsnow-whenitis
particularlytemptingtoleavethe
enginerunning.
Thetimingforturningontheheadlights,
otherexteriorlightsanddashboard
illuminationcanbedelayedbyadjusting
thesensitivityofthelightsensor.Consultan
AuthorizedMazdaDealerregardingsensor
adjustment.

Xenonfusionheadlightbulbsí
Thelow-beambulbsoftheheadlights
havexenonfusionbulbsthatproducea
brightwhitebeamoverawidearea.
WARNING
Donotreplacethexenonfusionbulbs
yourself:
Replacingthexenonfusionbulbs
yourselfisdangerous.Becausethe
xenonfusionbulbsrequirehigh
voltage,youcouldreceiveanelectric
shockifthebulbsarehandled
incorrectly.ConsultanAuthorized
MazdaDealerwhenthereplacement
isnecessary.

Very good reference. Bought car used with no owners manual
