THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING  YOUR VEHICLE
Research has shown that seat belts save lives, and they
canreducetheseriousnessofinjuriesinacollision.Some
of the worst injuries happen when people are thrown
from the vehicle. Seat belts reduce the possibility of
ejection and the risk of injury caused by striking the
insideofthevehicle.Everyoneinamotorvehicleshould
bebeltedatalltimes.
WARNING!
outsideIt is dangerousofavehicle.to rideInaincollision,a cargopeoplearea, insideridinginor
theseareasaremorelikelytobeseriouslyinjured
orkilled.
Do not allow people to ride in any area of your
vehicle that is not equipped with seats and seat
belts.
Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and
usingaseatbeltproperly.
Wearingaseatbeltincorrectlyisdangerous.Seat
beltsaredesignedtogoaroundthelargebonesof
your body. These are the strongest parts of your
bodyandcanbesttaketheforcesofacollision.
Lap/Shoulder Belts
All the seating positions in your vehicle are equipped
withcombinationlap/shoulderbelts.
The belt webbing retractor is designed to lock during
very sudden stops or collisions. This feature allows the
shoulderpartofthebelttomovefreelywithyouunder
normal conditions. However, in a collision the belt will
lockandreducetheriskofyoustrikingtheinsideofthe
vehicleorbeingthrownout.
