Withintwentysecondsofturningtheignitiontothe1(OFF/LOCK)
positionandremovingthepreviouslyprogrammedcodedkey,insert
thenewunprogrammedkey(newkey/valetkey)intotheignition.
8.
Turntheignitionfromthe1(OFF/LOCK)positiontothe3(RUN)
position.Keeptheignitioninthe3(RUN)positionforatleastthree
secondsbutnotmorethan10seconds.
9.
Removethenewlyprogrammedcodedkeyfromtheignition.
Ifthekeyhasbeensuccessfullyprogrammeditwillstartthevehicle’s
engineandthetheftindicatorlightwillilluminateforthreesecondsand
thengoout.
Ifthekeywasnotsuccessfullyprogrammed,itwillnotstartyour
vehicle’sengineandthetheftindicatorlightwillflashonandoff;you
mayneedtorepeatSteps1through5.Iffailurerepeats,takeyour
vehicletoyourMazdadealertohavethenewkey(s)programmed.
Toprogramadditionalnewunprogrammedkey(s),waittwentyseconds
andthenrepeatthisprocedurefromStep1.
PERIMETER ALARM SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)
Theperimeteranti-theftsystemwillwarnyouintheeventofan
unauthorizedentrytoyourvehicle.
Ifthereisanypotentialperimeteranti-theftproblemwithyourvehicle,
ensureALLremoteentrytransmittersaretakentothedealershipto
aidintroubleshooting.
Arming the system
Whenarmed,thissystemwillrespondifunauthorizedentryis
attempted.Whenunauthorizedentryoccurs,thesystemwillflashthe
park/turnlampsandwillsoundthehorn.
Thesystemisreadytoarmwheneverthekeyisremovedfromthe
ignition.Anyofthefollowingactionswillprearmthealarmsystem:

Pressthe
controlontheremoteentrytransmitter.
Lockthedoorswiththekeyinthekeycylinder.
Openthedriver’sdoorandpressthepowerdoorlockcontroltolock
allthedoors,andthenclosethedoor.
Note:Thedoors,liftgateandhoodwillarmindividually,andifanyof
themareopen,theymustbeclosedinordertobearmed.
