WHATTODOINEMERGENCIES
HAZARDWARNINGFLASHERS
Toactivatethewarningflasher,pushdownonthebutton
ontopofthesteeringcolumnuntilitlatches.Toturnthe
warning flasher off, push down again to unlatch the
button.
Your vehicle’s hazard warning flasher is an emergency
warning system. When you activate it, all front and rear
directionalsignalswillflashintermittently.Useitwhenyour
vehicleisdisabledonorneartheroad.Itwarnsotherdrivers
tosteerclearofyouandyourvehicle.Thisisanemergency
warningsystem,nottobeusedwhenthevehicleisinmotion.
NOTE: With extended use, the flasher may run down
yourbattery.
IFYOURENGINEOVERHEATS
In any of the following situations, you can reduce the
potential for overheating by taking the appropriate ac-
tion.
Onthehighways—Slowdown.
Incitytraffic—Whilestopped,puttransmissioninN
(Neutral),butdonotincreaseengineidlespeed.
NOTE: Therearestepsthatyoucantaketoslowdown
animpendingoverheatcondition.Ifyourairconditioner
ison,turnitoff.Theairconditioningsystemaddsheatto
the engine cooling system and turning off the A/C
HazardWarningSwitch
