and to insure accurate fluid level reading. Do not
overfill.Useonlythemanufacturer’srecommended
fluid.
Do not use Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) or
othertypesofpowersteeringfluidswhenservicing
thepowersteeringsystemofthisvehicle.Damageto
thepowersteeringsystemcanresultfromtheuseof
thewrongpowersteeringfluid.
Ifnecessary,addfluidtorestoretotheproperindicated
level.Withacleancloth,wipeanyspilledfluidfromall
surfaces.RefertoFluids,Lubricants,andGenuineParts
forcorrectfluidtype.
Checking the power steering fluid level at a defined
serviceintervalisnotrequired.Thefluidshouldonlybe
checked if a leak is suspected, abnormal noises are
apparent,and/orthesystemisnotfunctioningasantici-
pated. Coordinate inspection efforts through a certified
“DaimlerChryslerDealership.”

steeringpumpmaymakenoiseforashortperiodoftime.
Thisisduetothecold,thickfluidinthesteeringsystem.
Thisnoiseshouldbeconsiderednormal,anddoesnotin
anywaydamagethesteeringsystem.
