Whenparkingonahill,turnthefrontwheelstowardthe
curbonadownhillgradeandawayfromthecurbonan
uphillgrade.
WARNING!
Alwaysfullyapplytheparkingbrakewhenleaving
your vehicle, or it may roll and cause damage or
injury.Also,becertaintoleaveanautomatictrans-
mission in P (Park), a manual transmission in R
(Reverse)or1stgear.Failuretodosomayallowthe
vehicletorollandcausedamageorinjury.
The parking brake should always be applied whenever
thedriverisnotinthevehicle.
ANTI-LOCKBRAKESYSTEM—IFEQUIPPED
TheAnti-LockBrakeSystemisdesignedtoaidthedriver
inconditions.maintainingThevehiclesystemcontroloperatesunderwith  adversea separatebrakingcom- 5
puter to modulate hydraulic pressure to prevent wheel
lock-upandhelpavoidskiddingonslipperysurfaces.
Leavingchildreninavehicleunattendedisdanger-
ousforanumberofreasons.Achildorotherscould
beinjured.Childrenshouldbewarnednottotouch
the parking brake or the gear selector lever. Don’t
leavethekeysintheignition.Achildcouldoperate
powerwindows,othercontrols,ormovethevehicle.
All vehicle wheels and tires must be the same size and
type and tires must be properly inflated to produce
accuratesignalsforthecomputer.
Besuretheparkingbrakeisfullydisengagedbefore
driving,failuretodosocanleadtobrakeproblems
duetoexcessiveheatingoftherearbrakes.
