TCS remains off. When the vehicle speed drops below
35 mph (56 km/h), the ESP system shuts off. ESP is
deactivatedatlowvehiclespeedsin4WDLOWrangeso
that it will not interfere with off-road driving but ESP
functionreturnstoprovidethestabilityfeatureatspeeds
above40mph(64km/h).TheESP/TCSIndicatorLight
willalwaysbeilluminatedin4WDLOWrangewhenESP
isoff.
With the ESP switched off, the enhanced vehicle
stabilityofferedbyESPandERMareunavailable.In
an emergency evasive maneuver, the ESP and ERM
systems will not engage to assist in maintaining
stability. The “Full Off” ESP mode is intended for
off-roaduseonly.

4WDLowRange
NOTE: The “ESP OFF” message will display, and the
audiblechimewillsound,whentheshiftleverisplaced
inthePARKpositionfromanyotherposition,andthen
movedoutofthePARKposition.Thiswilloccurevenif
themessagewaspreviouslycleared
FullOff
ThisisthenormaloperatingmodeforESPin4WDLOW
range. Whenever the vehicle is started in 4WD LOW
range, or the transfer case (if equipped) is shifted from
4WDHIGHrangeorNEUTRALto4WDLOWrange,the
ESPsystemwillbeinthis“FullOff”mode.In4WDLOW
range,ESPandTCS,exceptforthe“limitedslip”feature
described in the TCS section, are turned off until the
vehiclereachesaspeedof40mph(64km/h).At40mph
