THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR  VEHICLE
The Occupant   Classification    System  (OCS)  is part  of
a Federally   regu lated  safety  system   requ ired  for this
vehicle.  It is  designed   to turn  off  the  front  passenger
airbag  in  the  unlikely   event  that  a  rear-facing  infant
seat  is in the  front  passenger   seat.
NOTE:   Child ren  12 years and  und er shou ld alw ays rid e
buckled  up in  a rear seat in an  approp riate  child restraint.
The Passen  ger Airb ag Disab  le (PAD) Indicator   Ligh t
(an amber  light  located  in the  lower  switch  bank) tells
the driver   and front  passenger   when  the front  passen-
ger  airbag  is  turned   off.  The  “PAD  Ind icator Light”
illuminates   the  word s ЉPASS AIR BAG OFFЉ to  show
that  the   passenger   airbag   will  not   inflate  during    a
collision  requ iring  airbags.  When  the  right  front  pas-
senger  seat   is empty   or  when  very   light  objects  are
placed  on the seat,  the passenger  airbag  will  not inflate
even  thou gh the  “PAD  Ind icator Light”  is  not illumi-
nated .
