Main tain ing  Your  Airb ag System

WARN ING!
Deployed   airb ags  and  seat belt  preten  sion ers cannot
protect   you  in  anoth  er  collision .  Have  the   airb ags,
seat  belt  preten sion er,  and  seat  belt  retractor   assem -
bly,  rep laced   by  an   authorized    dealer    as  soon   as
possib le.  Also, have  the  Occupant  Classification    Sys-
tem  serviced  as  well.

Modification  s to any  part of  the airb ag system  could cause  it to fail  when  you
need  it. You could be injured   if the airb ag system is not there  to protect  you. Do
not modify  the  components  or  wirin g, including  adding  any  kind  of badges  or
stickers  to  the  steerin g wheel   hub  trim  cover  or the  upper   righ t side  of  the
instru ment  panel.  Do  not modify  the  fron t bumper   or vehicle  body  stru cture.

Take  your  vehicle   to  an  authorized   dealer  for  any  advanced   airbag   system
service. If your  seat including   your trim  cover and cushion  needs  to be  serviced
in any way  (including  removal or loosen ing/tigh tening  of seat attachment  bolts),
take  the  vehicle  to your  authorized   dealer.  Only  manufacturer   approved   seat
accessories may  be used.  If it is necessary  to modify  an advanced  airbag  system
for person s with  disabilities,   contact  your authorized   dealer.

If the  airbags   deploy  after   an impact   and  the  electrical
system
rem ains   functional,    vehicles    equ ipped    with

You need  proper  knee  impact  protection  in a  collision . Do not  mount  or locate
any  afterm arket equipment   on  or behind   the knee  bolsters.
NOTE:   The  interior  lights  can only  be deactivated   if the
key is  rem oved from  the ignition  switch  or  the vehicle  is
driven.
It is dangerou  s to try  to repair  any  part of  the airb ag system  yourself.  Be sure
to tell  anyone  who  works  on your  vehicle  that  it has  an airb ag system .
