IgnitionPositions
ToshiftoutofP(Park),thevehicle
mustbeinACC/ACCESSORYor
ON/RUNmodeandthebrake
pedalmustbeapplied.
ACC/ACCESSORY: Thisposition
allowsyoutousesomeelectrical
accessories whentheengineisoff.
Withtheignition  off,pressing the
buttononetimewithoutthebrake
pedalapplied, willplacetheignition
systeminACC/ACCESSORY.
OFF: Whenthisbuttonispressed
withtheenginerunning,  theengine
willbeturnedoff.
IfthevehicleisinP(Park),the
ignition willturnOFF,andRetained
Accessory Power(RAP)willremain
active.SeeRetainedAccessory
Power(RAP) on page 8‑18 for
moreinformation.
Theignition willswitchfrom
ACC/ACCESSORY toOFFafter
fiveminutestopreventbattery
rundown.
ON/RUN/START: Thisposition is
fordrivingandstarting.  Withthe
ignition off,andthebrakepedal
applied, pressing thebuttononce
willplacetheignition  systemin
ON/RUN/START.Onceengine
cranking begins,releasethebutton.
Enginecranking willcontinue until
theenginestarts.SeeStarting   the
GasolineEngine on page 8‑18 for
moreinformation. Theignitionwill
thenremaininON/RUN.
IfthevehicleisnotinP(Park),
theignitionwillreturntoACC/
ACCESSORYanddisplaythe
message“ShifttoPark”inthe
DriverInformation Center(DIC).
SeeDriverInformation  Center(DIC)
on page 4‑29 formoreinformation.
Whenthevehicleisshiftedinto
P(Park),theignition  systemwill
switchtoOFF.
Thevehiclehasanelectronic
keylessignition withpush‐button
start.
Pressing thebuttoncyclesitthrough
threemodes,ACC/ACCESSORY,
ON/RUN/STARTandOFF.
Ifthepush-button  startisnot
working, thevehiclemaybeneara
strongradioantennasignalcausing
interference tothekeylessentry
