TreatmentPLUS,addedtothefuel
tankateveryengineoilchange,
canhelpcleandeposits fromfuel
injectors andintakevalves.GMFuel
SystemTreatmentPLUSistheonly
gasoline additive recommended by
GeneralMotors.Itisavailable at
yourdealer/retailer.
However,E85(85%ethanol) and
otherfuelscontaining morethan
10%ethanolmustnotbeusedin
vehicles thatwerenotdesigned for
thosefuels.
Somegasolines thatare
notreformulated forlow
emissions cancontainan
octane-enhancing additive called
methylcyclopentadienyl manganese
tricarbonyl (MMT);asktheattendant
whereyoubuygasolinewhetherthe
fuelcontains MMT.Werecommend
againsttheuseofsuchgasolines.
Fuelscontaining MMTcanreduce
thelifeofsparkplugsandthe
performance oftheemission control
systemcouldbeaffected. The
malfunction indicator lampmight
turnon.Ifthisoccurs,returntoyour
dealer/retailer forservice.
Notice: Thisvehiclewasnot
designed forfuelthatcontains
methanol. Donotusefuel
containing methanol. Itcan
corrodemetalpartsinthefuel
systemandalsodamageplastic
andrubberparts.Thatdamage
wouldnotbecoveredunderthe
vehiclewarranty.
Gasolines containing oxygenates,
suchasethersandethanol, and
reformulated gasolines mightbe
available inyourarea.We
recommend thatyouusethese
gasolines, iftheycomplywiththe
specifications described earlier.
