THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING  YOUR VEHICLE

A shoulder   belt placed   behind  will  not  protect  you
from  injury  durin  g a collision . You are  more  lik ely
to hit  you r head   in  a collision   if you  do  not  wear
you r shoulder   belt.  The  lap  and  shoulder   belt  are
mean t to  be  used  togeth er.

Position  the  lap  belt  across  you r  thighs,  below   you r
abd omen. To rem ove slack  in the lap  belt portion,  pull  up
on the shou lder  belt. To loosen  the lap belt if it is too tight,
tilt  the latch  plate   and  pull  on the  lap  belt.  A snu g belt
red uces the  risk  of sliding  und er  the belt  in a  collision.

NOTE:    The  Seat  Belt  Remind er  Light  will  rem ain  on
until  the  driver’s  seat  belt is buckled  .
