RECREATIONAL TOWING (ALL WHEELS  ON THE GROUND)
Followtheseguidelinesforyourspecificpowertraincombinationtotow
yourvehiclewithallfourwheelsontheground(suchasbehinda
recreationalvehicle).
Theseguidelinesaredesignedtoensurethatyourtransmissionisnot
damagedduetoinsufficientlubrication.
RearWheelDrive(RWD)4x2vehicles:
Thisappliestoall4x2trucks/sportutilitieswithrearwheeldrive
capability.
PlacethetransmissioninN(Neutral).
Maximumspeedis35mph(56km/h).
Maximumdistanceis50miles(80km).
Ifadistanceof50miles(80km)oraspeedof35mph(56km/h)must
beexceeded,youmustdisconnectthedriveshaft.Fordrecommendsthe
driveshaftberemoved/installedonlybyaqualifiedtechnicanatan
authorizeddealer.Seeyourauthorizeddealerfordriveshaft
removal/installation.
Improperremoval/installationofthedriveshaftcancause
transmissionfluidloss,damagetothedriveshaftandinternal
transmissioncomponents.
4WDvehicleswithelectronicshifttransfercase(Neutraltowkit
accessory):
Onvehiclesequippedwith4WD,anaccessoryisavailablethatallowsyou
totowyourvehicle,behindanothervehicle,withallthewheelsonthe
ground.Contactyourauthorizeddealerformoredetails.Donottowyour
vehiclewithallwheelsonthegroundunlessyouinstalltheneutraltow
kitasvehicledamagemayoccur.
