Ifthebatteryhasbeendisconnectedoranewbatteryhasbeeninstalled,
theclockandthepresetradiostationsmustberesetoncethebatteryis
reconnected.
Alwaysdisposeofautomotive
batteriesinaresponsiblemanner.
Followyourlocalauthorized
standardsfordisposal.Callyour
localauthorizedrecyclingcenter
tofindoutmoreaboutrecycling
automotivebatteries.
RECYCLE
ENGINE COOLANT
Checking engine coolant
Theconcentrationandlevelofenginecoolantshouldbecheckedatthe
intervalslistedinscheduledmaintenanceinformation.Thecoolant
concentrationshouldbemaintainedat50/50coolantanddistilledwater,
whichequatestoafreezepointof-34°F(-36°C).Coolantconcentration
testingispossiblewithahydrometerorantifreezetester(suchasthe
RotundaBatteryandAntifreezeTester,014–R1060).Thelevelofcoolant
shouldbemaintainedatthe“FULLCOLD”levelinthecoolantreservoir.
Ifthelevelfallsbelow,addcoolantpertheinstructionsintheAdding
enginecoolantsection.
Yourvehiclewasfactory-filledwitha50/50enginecoolantandwater
concentration.Iftheconcentrationofcoolantfallsbelow40%orabove
60%,
50–50
theenginepartscouldbecomedamagedornotworkproperly.A
mixtureofcoolantandwaterprovidesthefollowing:
Freezeprotectiondownto-34°F(-36°C).
Boilingprotectionupto265°F(129°C).
Protectionagainstrustandotherformsofcorrosion.
Enablescalibratedgaugestoworkproperly.
Whentheengineiscold,checktheleveloftheenginecoolantinthe
reservoir.
