orinjureachildinachild
seat.NEVERplacearear-facing
childseatinfrontofanactive
airbag.Ifyoumustusea
forward-facingchildseatinthe
frontseat,movetheseatallthe
wayback.
How does the airbag  supplemental restraint system work?
TheairbagSRSisdesignedto
activatewhenthevehiclesustainsa
longitudinaldecelerationsufficient
tocausetheairbagsensorstoclose
anelectricalcircuitthatinitiates
airbaginflation.Thefactthatthe
airbagsdidnotinflateinacollision
doesnotmeanthatsomethingis
wrongwiththesystem.Rather,it
meanstheforceswerenotsufficient
enoughtocauseactivation.Front
airbagsaredesignedtoinflatein
frontalandnear-frontalcollisions,notrollover,side-impact,or
rear-impactsunlessthecollisioncausessufficientlongitudinal
deceleration.
