clutchpedaltoholdyourvehicleatastandstillwhilewaitingona
hill.Theseactionswillseverelyreducethelifeoftheclutchand
couldnullifyaclutchwarrantyclaim.
Recommended shift speeds
Upshiftaccordingtothefollowingchartsforbestfueleconomy:
Upshiftsduringlighttomoderateaccelerationsandcruises(for
bestfueleconomy)
Shiftfrom:

20mph(32km/h)
32mph(52km/h)
37mph(60km/h)
Reverse
Makesurethatyourvehicleisatacompletestopbeforeyoushift
intoR(Reverse).Failuretodosomaydamagethetransmission.

Holdtheclutchpedaldownand
movethegearshiftleverintothe
neutralposition.
2.
Fromtheneutralposition,move
thegearshiftleverallthewaytothe
right,thenmoveitdownintotheR
(Reverse)position.
Note:Thegearshiftlevercanonly
bemovedintoR(Reverse)bymovingitfromleftof3(Third)and4
(Fourth)beforeshiftingintoR(Reverse).Thisisalockoutfeaturethat
protectsthetransmissionfromaccidentallybeingshiftedintoR
(Reverse)from5(Fifth).
IfR(Reverse)isnotfullyengaged,presstheclutchpedaldownand
returnthegearshifttotheneutralposition.Releasetheclutchpedalfor
amoment,thenpressitdownandshifttoR(Reverse)again.
Parking your vehicle

Fullyapplytheparkingbrake,thenshiftinto1(First).
