Becauseyourvehicle’sengineiselectronicallycontrolledbyacomputer,
somecontrolconditionsaremaintainedbypowerfromthebattery.When
thebatteryisdisconnectedoranewbatteryisinstalled,theenginemust
relearnitsidleandfueltrimstrategyforoptimumdriveabilityand
performance.Tobeginthisprocess:

relearntheidleandfueltrimstrategy.

Ifyoudonotallowtheenginetorelearnitsidletrim,theidle
qualityofyourvehiclemaybeadverselyaffecteduntiltheidle
trimiseventuallyrelearned.
Whenthebatteryisdisconnectedoranewbatteryinstalled,the
automatictransmissionmustrelearnitsadaptivestrategy.Asaresultof
this,thetransmissionmayshiftfirmlywhenfirstdriven.Thisoperationis
considerednormalandwillfullyupdatetransmissionoperationtoits
optimumshiftfeel.
Ifthebatteryhasbeendisconnectedoranewbatteryhasbeeninstalled,
theclockandthepresetradiostationsmustberesetoncethebatteryis
reconnected.
