WARNING:Trailerswaycontroldoesnotpreventatrailerfrom
swaying,itmitigatestheswayfromincreasingonceithas
occurred.TSCcannotstopalltrailersfromswaying.Ifyouare
experiencingtrailersway,itislikelythatthetrailerisimproperly
loadedforthecorrecttongueweightorthespeedofthevehicleand
traileristoohigh.Pullthevehicle-trailerovertoasafelocationto
checkthetrailerweightdistributionandtongueloadandreducespeed
toasafelevelwhiletowing.Iftrailerswayisexperienced,SLOW
DOWN.Alwaysusecautionwhentowingatrailerandfollowthe
tongueweightrecommendations.RefertotheTrailertowingsection
intheTiresWheelsandLoadingchapterofthisowner’sguidefor
moreinformationontowingatrailerwithyourvehicle.
DuringTrailerSwayControleventsthe
iconintheinstrumentcluster
willflashmomentarily.Insomecaseswhentrailerswayisdetected,the
vehiclespeedistoohighandmaybeatoraboveaspeedatwhichtrailer
swaywillgrowcontinuously.Thismaycausethesystemtoactivate
multipletimes,andyoumayexperienceaslightdecelerationofthe
vehicle.
DisablingTrailerSwayControl
Trailerswaycontrolcanbedisabledduringanykeycycle.Pressingand
holdingtheAdvanceTracwithRSCbuttonformorethanfiveseconds
willdisabletheTrailerSwayControlfeatureandthe
iconwillflash
momentarilyandthenilluminatesolidforthatignitioncycle.Trailer
SwayControlcanbere-enabledbymomentarilypressingthe
AdvanceTracwithRSCbutton.TrailerSwayControlwillalsobe
re-enabledateachnewkeycycle.
WARNING:TurningoffTrailerSwayControlincreasestherisk
oflossofvehiclecontrol,seriousinjury,ordeath.Forddoesnot
recommenddisablingthisfeatureexceptinsituationswherespeed
reductionmaybedetrimental(e.g.,hillclimbing),thedriverhas
significanttrailertowingexperience,andcancontroltrailerswayand
maintainsafeoperation.
