Toavoidpossibleoilloss,DONOToperatethevehiclewiththe
engineoillevelindicatorand/ortheengineoilfillercapremoved.
Engine oil and filter recommendations
SAE 5W-20 engine oil is  recommended
Lookforthiscertification
trademark.
UseSAE5W-20motoroilcertifiedforgasolineenginesbytheAmerican
PetroleumInstitute(API).
MotoroildisplayingtheAPIcertificationtrademarkwillmeetall
requirementsforyourvehicle’sengine.
Donotusesupplementalengineoiladditives,oiltreatmentsorengine
treatments.Theyareunnecessaryandcould,undercertainconditions,
leadtoenginedamagewhichisnotcoveredbyyourwarranty.
Changeyourengineoilandfilteraccordingtotheappropriateschedule
listedintheservicemaintenancesection.
Mazdaproductionandreplacementoilfiltersaredesignedforadded
engineprotectionandlonglife.Ifareplacementoilfilterisusedthat
doesnotmeetMazdamaterialanddesignspecifications,start-upengine
noisesorknockmaybeexperienced.
ItisrecommendedyouusetheappropriateGenuineMazdaoilfilter(or
anotherbrandmeetingMazdaspecifications)foryourengineapplication.
