Neutral (N) position with out first fully engagin g
the park ing brak e. The tran sfer case Neutral (N)
position disen gages both the fron t drivesh aft and
rear drivesh aft from the powertrain and it will
allow the veh icle to move desp ite the tran smission
position . The park ing brak e should alw ays be 5
applied when the driver is not in the veh icle.

Th e 4WD Lock position an d 4WD Low position are in -
ten ded for loose or slip pery road su rfaces on ly. Drivin g in
th ese position s on dry hard su rfaced road s may cau se
in creased tire wear an d dam age to th e drivelin e com po-
nen ts.
• Alw ays engage the park ing brak e when powerin g
down the veh icle if the “SERV 4WD” ligh t is
illu minated . Not engagin g the park ing brak e may
allow the veh icle to roll, which may cause person al
injury.

sp eed is ap proxim ately th ree tim es th at of th e 2WD posi-
tion or 4WD LOCK position at a given road sp eed . Take
care not to over-sp eed th e en gin e an d do not exceed 25 mph

stop ping speed s. Do not go faster than road condi-
tion s perm it. You or oth ers could be injured .
