Ifthevehicle's  battery (orbatteries) hasrundown,you
maywanttouseanothervehicleandsomejumper
cablestostartyourvehicle.   Besuretousethefollowing
stepstodoitsafely.
Tryingtostartthevehiclebypushingorpullingit
willnotwork,anditcoulddamagethevehicle.

Checktheothervehicle.  Itmusthavea12-volt
batterywithanegative  groundsystem.

Notice: Iftheothervehicle's  systemisnota12-volt
systemwithanegativeground,bothvehicles    can
bedamaged. Onlyusevehicles  with12-voltsystems
withnegativegroundstojumpstartyourvehicle.

Getthevehicles  closeenoughsothejumper
cablescanreach,butbesurethevehicles    arenot
touching eachother.Iftheyare,itcouldcausea
groundconnection youdonotwant.Youwould
notbeabletostartyourvehicle,    andthebad
grounding coulddamagetheelectrical  systems.

transmission inP(Park)oramanualtransmission
inNeutralbeforesettingtheparkingbrake.Ifyou
haveafour-wheel-drive  vehicle, besurethe
transfer caseisinadrivegear,notinNeutral.
