parkingbrake.
Whileparked,andwiththeparkingbrakeset,trytoturn
theignitiontoLOCK/OFFineachshiftleverposition.

Tochecktheparkingbrake'sholdingability:    With
theenginerunningandthetransmission   in
N(Neutral), slowlyremovefootpressure  fromthe
regularbrakepedal.Dothisuntilthevehicleisheld
bytheparkingbrakeonly.

Theignition shouldturntoLOCK/OFFonlywhen
theshiftleverisinP(Park).

Theignition keyshouldcomeoutonlyin
LOCK/OFF.

TochecktheP(Park)mechanism's   holdingability:
Withtheenginerunning,  shifttoP(Park).Then
releasetheparkingbrakefollowed   bytheregular
brake.
