set.
2.
Pushtheclutchpedaltothefloor.

Turnthekeyto3(ON)without
turningthekeyto4(START).
Somewarninglightswillbrieflyilluminate.SeeWarninglightsand
chimesintheInstrumentClusterchapterformoreinformation
regardingthewarninglights.
Starting the engine
1.
Turnthekeyto3(ON)without
turningthekeyto4(START).
2.
Turnthekeyto4(START),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginestarts.Excessivecranking
coulddamagethestarter.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartwithinfivesecondsonthefirsttry,
turnthekeytoOFF,wait10secondsandtryagain.Iftheenginestill
failstostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryagain;thiswill
allowtheenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoffincasetheengineis
floodedwithfuel.
Guarding against exhaust fumes
Carbonmonoxideispresentinexhaustfumes.Takeprecautionstoavoid
itsdangerouseffects.
