Addfluidtofillthereservoirifthe
levelislow.Inverycoldweather,do
notfillthereservoircompletely.
Onlyuseawasherfluidthatmeets
FordspecificationWSB-M8B16–A2.
Donotuseanyspecialwasherfluid
suchaswindshieldwaterrepellent
typefluidorbugwash.Theymay
causesqueaking,chatternoise,
streakingandsmearing.Referto
Lubricantspecificationsinthis
chapter.
Stateorlocalregulationsonvolatileorganiccompoundsmayrestrictthe
useofmethanol,acommonwindshieldwasherantifreezeadditive.
Washerfluidscontainingnon-methanolantifreezeagentsshouldbeused
onlyiftheyprovidecoldweatherprotectionwithoutdamagingthe
vehicle’spaintfinish,wiperbladesorwashersystem.
Ifyouoperateyourvehicleintemperaturesbelow40°F(4.5°C),
usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotection.Failuretouse
washerfluidwithantifreezeprotectionincoldweathercouldresultin
impairedwindshieldvisionandincreasetheriskofinjuryoraccident.
Note:Donotputwasherfluidintheenginecoolantreservoir.Washer
fluidplacedinthecoolingsystemmayharmengineandcoolingsystem
components.
CHANGING THE WIPER BLADES
1.
Pullthewiperbladeandarm
awayfromtheglass.Turntheblade
atarightangletothearm.Pushthe
locktab(A)toreleasetheblade
fromthearmloopandpullthe
bladedowntowardthewindshield
toremoveitfromthearm.
2.
Attachthenewbladetothearm
loopandpullitintoplaceuntila
clickisheard.
Replacewiperbladesatleastonceperyearforoptimumperformance.
