warninglampintheinstrumentclustermomentarilyilluminates
ABS
whentheignitionisturnedonandtheengineisoff.Ifthelightdoesnot
illuminatemomentarilyatstartup,remainsonorcontinuestoflash,the
ABSneedstobeserviced.
WiththeABSlighton,theanti-lock
brakesystemisdisabledandnormal
brakingisstilleffectiveunlessthe
brakewarninglightalsoremains
illuminatedwithparkingbrake
!
BRAKE
released.(Ifyourbrakewarninglampilluminates,haveyourvehicle
servicedimmediately).
Using ABS
•
InanemergencyorwhenmaximumefficiencyfromtheABSis
required,applycontinuousfullforceonthebrake.TheABSwillbe
activatedimmediately,thusallowingyoutoretainfullsteeringcontrol
ofyourvehicleand,providingthereissufficientspace,willenableyou
toavoidobstaclesandbringthevehicletoacontrolledstop.

TheAnti-Locksystemdoesnotdecreasethetimenecessarytoapply
thebrakesoralwaysreducestoppingdistance.Alwaysleaveenough
roombetweenyourvehicleandthevehicleinfrontofyoutostop.
Werecommendthatyoufamiliarizeyourselfwiththisbraking
technique.However,avoidtakinganyunnecessaryrisks.
Parking brake
Applytheparkingbrakewhenever
thevehicleisparked.Tosetthe
parkingbrake,presstheparking
brakepedaldownuntilthepedal
stops.
