Fuel quality
Ifyouareexperiencingstarting,roughidleorhesitationdriveability
problemsduringacoldstart,tryadifferentbrandof“Regular”unleaded
gasoline.“Premium”unleadedgasolineisnotrecommended(particularly
intheUnitedStates)becauseitmaycausetheseproblemstobecome
morepronounced.Iftheproblemspersist,seeyourdealeroraqualified
servicetechnician.
TheAmericanAutomobileManufacturersAssociation(AAMA)issueda
fuelspecificationtoprovideinformationonhighqualityfuelsthat
optimizetheperformanceofyourvehicle.Werecommendtheuseof
fuelsthatmeettheAAMAspecificationiftheyareavailable.
Itshouldnotbenecessarytoaddanyaftermarketproductstoyourfuel
tankifyoucontinuetouseahigh-qualityfuel.
Cleaner air
Fordapprovestheuseofgasolinestoimproveairquality,including
reformulatedgasolinesthatcontainoxygenatesupto10%ethanolor
15%
MTBE.
