Seating and Safety Restraints
Safety belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltpretensionersatthedriverand
rightfrontpassengerseatingpositions.
Thesafetybeltpretensionertightensthesafetybeltsfirmlyagainstthe
occupant’sbodyatthestartofthecrash.
WhentheSafetyCanopysystem,seat-mountedsideairbags,and/orthe
frontairbagsareactivated,thesafetybeltpretensionersforthedriver
andrightfrontpassengerseatingpositionswillbeactivatedwhenthe
respectiveseatbeltisproperlybuckled.
WARNING:Thedriverandfrontpassengersafetybeltsystem
(includingretractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbe
replacedifthevehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsin
deploymentoffrontairbags,seat-mountedsideairbagsandSafety
Canopy,andsafetybeltpretensioners.
RefertotheSafetybeltmaintenancesectioninthischapter.
Front safety belt height  adjustment
Yourvehiclehassafetybeltheight
adjustmentsatthefrontoutboard
seatingpositions.Adjusttheheight
oftheshoulderbeltsothebeltrests
acrossthemiddleofyourshoulder.
Toadjusttheshoulderbeltheight,
squeezeandholdthebuttonsonthe
sideandslidetheheightadjusterup
ordown.Releasethebuttonsand
pulldownontheheightadjusterto
makesureitislockedinplace.
WARNING:Positionthesafetybeltheightadjusterssothatthe
beltrestsacrossthemiddleofyourshoulder.Failuretoadjust
thesafetybeltproperlycouldreducetheeffectivenessofthesafety
beltandincreasetheriskofinjuryinacollision.
