Determiningifthesystemisoperational
TheSRSusesareadinesslightintheinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthesystem.RefertotheAirbagreadiness
sectionintheInstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceofthe
airbagisnotrequired.
Anydifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthe
following:
Thereadinesslight(samelightasforfrontairbagsystem)willeither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightwillnotilluminateimmediatelyafterignitionis
turnedon.
Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemandlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,contactyour
authorizeddealerassoonaspossible.Unlessserviced,thesystemmay
notfunctionproperlyintheeventofacollisionorrolloverevent.
SOS Post-Crash Alert System™
TheSOSPost-CrashAlertautomaticallyflashestheturnsignallampsand
soundsthehornthreetimesatfoursecondintervalsintheeventofa
seriousimpactthatdeploysanairbag(front,side,sidecurtainorSafety
Canopy)orthesafetybeltpretensioners.
TheSOSPost-CrashAlertcanbeturnedoffwhenanyoneofthe
followingactionsaretakenbythedriveroranyotherperson:
pressingthehazardcontrolbutton,
orpressingthepanicbuttonontheremoteentrytransmitter.
Thefeaturewillcontinuetooperateuntilthevehiclerunsoutofpower.
Disposal of airbags and  airbag equipped vehicles
(including pretensioners)
Contactyourauthorizeddealerassoonaspossible.AirbagsMUSTBE
disposedofbyqualifiedpersonnel.
