Checking engine coolant
Theconcentrationandlevelofenginecoolantshouldbecheckedatthe
intervalslistedinscheduledmaintenanceinformation.Thecoolant
concentrationshouldbemaintainedat50/50coolantanddistilledwater,
whichequatestoafreezepointof-34°F(-36°C).Coolantconcentration
testingispossiblewithahydrometerorantifreezetester.Thelevelof
coolantshouldbemaintainedattheFULLCOLDlevelinthecoolant
reservoir.Ifthelevelfallsbelow,addcoolantpertheinstructionsinthe
Addingenginecoolantsection.
Yourvehiclewasfactory-filledwitha50/50enginecoolantandwater
concentration.Iftheconcentrationofcoolantfallsbelow40%orabove
60%,

theenginepartscouldbecomedamagedornotworkproperly.A
mixtureofcoolantandwaterprovidesthefollowing:
