andallowskeyremoval.This
positionalsoshutstheengineand
allelectricalaccessoriesoff.

Accessory—allowstheelectrical
accessoriessuchastheradioto
operatewhiletheengineisnot
running.
3.
On—allelectricalcircuits
operational.Warninglights
illuminated.Keypositionwhendriving.
4.
Start—crankstheengine.Releasethekeyassoonastheengine
starts.

Enginestartingiscontrolledbythepowertraincontrolsystem.
ThissystemmeetsallCanadianinterference-causingequipmentstandard
requirementsregulatingtheimpulseelectricalfieldstrengthofradio
noise.
Whenstartingafuel-injectedengine,don’tpresstheacceleratorbefore
orduringstarting.Onlyusetheacceleratorwhenyouhavedifficulty

WARNING:Extendedidlingathighenginespeedscanproduce
veryhightemperaturesintheengineandexhaustsystem,
creatingtheriskoffireorotherdamage.

orotherdrygroundcover.Theemissionsystemheatsupthe
enginecompartmentandexhaustsystem,whichcanstartafire.
WARNING:Donotstartyourvehicleinaclosedgarageorin
otherenclosedareas.Exhaustfumescanbetoxic.Alwaysopen
thegaragedoorbeforeyoustarttheengine.SeeGuardingagainst
exhaustfumesinthischapterformoreinstructions.
