Seating and Safety Restraints
Installing child safety seats  with combination lap and shoulder
belts
Ifneeded,wheninstallingsomehighbackchildrestraints,thehead
restraintsofthesecondrowseatingpositionscanberemoved.Inserta
thinpointedobject,suchasapapercliporpushpin,intotheholeof
eachheadrestraintguideandwhileliftingupremovetheheadrestraint.
Storetheheadrestraintinasecurelocationinthevehicle,suchason
theflooragainsttherearofthefrontseats.Tore-installthehead
restraint,linethepostsupintheholesontheseatbackwiththehead
restraintstrapfacingtheoutsideofthevehicleandpushdownuntilthe
headrestraintlocksintoplace.Liftgentlytoensureitislockedinto
place.
WARNING:Iftheheadrestrainthasbeenremovedfroma
seatingpositiontoaccommodateahighbackchildrestraint,the
headrestraintmustbere-installedpriortouseoftheseatbyanyother
occupantinordertoreducetheriskofpersonalinjuryintheeventof
acollision.
Checktomakesurethechildseatisproperlysecuredbeforeeachuse.
Children12andundershouldbeproperlyrestrainedinarearseating
positionwheneverpossible.Ifallchildrencannotbeseatedand
restrainedproperlyinarearseatingposition,properlyrestrainthe
largestchildinthefrontseat.
Wheninstallingachildsafetyseatwithcombinationlap/shoulderbelts:
Usethecorrectsafetybeltbuckleforthatseatingposition.
Insertthebelttongueintotheproperbuckleuntilyouhearasnap
andfeelitlatch.Makesurethetongueissecurelyfastenedinthe
buckle.
