Ifyoushouldbecomestuckinsnow
oriceoronaveryslipperyroad
surface,tryswitchingtheTractionControlsystemoff.Thismayallow
excesswheelspinto“dig”thevehicleoutandenableasuccessful
“
rocking”maneuver.
Ifasystemfaultisdetected,thetractioncontrolactivelightwill
illuminate,theTractionControlbuttonwillnotturnthesystemonor
offandyourvehicleshouldbeserviced.
AdvanceTracி stability enhancement system (if equipped)
TheAdvanceTracsystemprovidesastabilityenhancementfeatureas
wellasatractionenhancementfeature.Excessivewheelslipis
controlledbymomentarilyreducingenginepowerand/orrapidlyapplying
theanti-lockbrakes.Ifthevehiclebeginstoslideexcessivelyleftorright
orspinout.AdvanceTracwillattempttocorrecttheslidingmotionby
applyingbrakeforceatindividualtiresand,ifnecessary,byreducing
enginepower.
IftheAdvanceTracsystemisactivatedanddeactivatedexcessivelyina
shortperiodoftime,thebrakeportionofthesystemwillshutdownto
allowthebrakestocooldown.AlimitedAdvanceTracfunctionusing
onlyenginepowerreductionwillstillhelpcontrolthewheelsfrom
over-spinning.Whenthebrakeshavecooleddown,thesystemwillagain
functionnormally.Anti-lockbrakingisnotaffectedbythisconditionand
willfunctionnormallyduringthecool-downperiod.
AdvanceTracenhancesyourvehicle’sstabilityduringmaneuversthat
requireallavailabletiretraction,likeinwet/snowy/icyroadconditions
and/orwhenperformingemergencymaneuvers.Inanemergency
lane-change,thedriverwillexperiencebetteroverallvehicletraction,
andhavebettercontrolofthevehicle.
