Fullyapplytheparkingbrake,thenshiftinto1(First).
Turntheignitionoff.
DonotparkyourvehicleinNeutral,itmaymoveunexpectedly
andinjuresomeone.Use1(First)gearandsettheparkingbrake
fully.
Removing the key
Turntheignitionoff,pushthereleaselever(locatedabovetheignition),
thenturnthekeytowardyouandremovethekey.
DRIVING THROUGH WATER
Ifdrivingthroughdeeporstandingwaterisunavoidable,proceedvery
slowlyespeciallyifthedepthisnotknown.Neverdrivethroughwater
thatishigherthanthebottomofthehubs(fortrucks)orthebottomof
thewheelrims(forcars).Tractionorbrakecapabilitymaybelimited
andyourvehiclemaystall.Watermayalsoenteryourengine’sairintake
andseverelydamageyourengine.
Oncethroughthewater,alwaysdrythebrakesbymovingyourvehicle
slowlywhileapplyinglightpressureonthebrakepedal.Wetbrakesdo
notstopthevehicleasquicklyasdrybrakes.Drivingthroughdeep
waterwherethetransmissionventtubeissubmergedmayallow
waterintothetransmissionandcauseinternaltransmission
damage.
