Safety belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltpretensionersatthedriverand
frontpassengerseatingpositions.
Thesafetybeltpretensionerisadevicewhichremovesexcesswebbing
fromthesafetybeltsystem.Thesafetybeltpretensionerusesthesame
crashsensorsystemasthefrontairbagsupplementalrestraintsystem
(SRS).Whenthesafetybeltpretensionerdeploys,webbingfromthelap
andshoulderbeltistightened.Thedriverandfrontpassengerseatbelt
system(includingretractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbe
replacedifthevehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsin
deploymentoffrontairbagsandsafetybeltpretensioners.Refertothe
Safetybeltmaintenancesectioninthischapter.
Failuretoreplacethesafetybeltassemblyfollowingacollision
thatinvolveddeploymentoffrontairbagsand/orsafetybelt
pretensionerscouldresultinseverepersonalinjuriesintheeventofa
collision.
Front safety belt height adjustment
Adjusttheheightoftheshoulder
beltsothebeltrestsacrossthe
middleofyourshoulder.
Toadjusttheshoulderbeltheight,
pushthebuttonandslidetheheight
adjusterupordown.Releasethe
buttonandpulldownontheheight
adjustertomakesureitislockedin
place.
Threedoormodelsareequipped
withasafetybeltparkingfeaturefor
thedriverandfrontpassenger.The
purposeoftheparkingfeatureisto
allowthedriverorpassengerto
reachthesafetybelt.Fastenyour
safetybeltasnormal,andthebelt
willslidetothefrontofthesteel
baralongthebottomofthedoor.
Pullthesafetybeltbackwardsto
parkforeasieraccessorexitfrom
therearseats.
