THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING  YOUR VEHICLE

NOTE:
immobilized  . If the Theft Alarm  Light rem ains On  during
vehicle   operation,    it  ind icates   a  fault   in  the   system
electronics.
All  of  the  keys  provid ed  with   you r new   vehicle  have  2
been  program med  to  the vehicle  electronics.
The Sentry  Key Immobilizer   System  is not  compatible
with  rem ote  starting   system s.  Use  of  these  system s
may  resu lt  in  vehicle  starting   problem  s and   loss  of
security  protection.
Additional   Sentry Keys  or Mobil Speed  Pass™ devices
held  too  close  to  the  ignition   key  when  starting   the
vehicle  may  cause problem  s when  attem pting  to  start
the  vehicle.  These  devices  cannot  damage   the  Sentry
Key  System ,  but   can  cause   a  momentary    problem
when   attem pting   to  start   the  engine.   If  a  problem
occurs,  rem ove the  Sentry  Key from  the  key ring  and
restart  the vehicle.  Pagers,  cell phones,  walkm ans, etc.,
have  no effect  on this  system .
Replacement Keys
NOTE:    Only  keys  that  have  been  program  med  to  the
vehicle  electronics  can  be used  to start  the  vehicle.  Once
a Sentry   Key has  been  program  med  to a  vehicle,  it can
not  be program  med  to any  other  vehicle.
At the  time  of purchase,   the  original  owner   is provid ed
with  a  four  digit  PIN  nu mber. This  nu mber  is requ ired
for dealer   rep lacem ent  of keys.  Duplication of  keys may
be  perform ed  at  an  authorized    dealer  or  by  using   the
Custom er  Key Program  ming  proced ure.  This proced ure
consists   of  program  ming   a  blank   key  to   the  vehicle
electronics.   A blank   key  is  one  which   has  never   been
program med.
The Theft  Alarm  Light, located  on  the instru ment  cluster
to the  right  of the  fuel gau ge, will  illuminate  for  abou t 3
second s when  the ignition  switch  is first turned   to the On
position.  If  the vehicle  electronics   do not  receive  a valid
signal  from   the  ignition  key,  the  theft   alarm  light  will
flash  continu ously   to  signal   that  the  vehicle   has  been
