If the fluid  is hot (180°F /  82°C), the  read ing shou ld be
in the  cross hatched  area  marked  ”HOT”  (betw een the
upper  two  holes  in  the dipstick).
Main ten ance schedule   “B” — Every  60,000 miles (96 000
km)  change  fluid  and   filter  und er the  follow ing  cond i-
tions:
If the  fluid  level  show s  low, add   sufficient  transm is-
sion  fluid  to bring  to the  prop er  level.

CAUTIO N!
NOTE:    Refer  to  Section  8 of  this  manu al  for  mainte-
nance  sched ules.
Do  not  overfill.  Dirt   and  water  in  the  tran saxle  can
cause   seriou s  damage.   To   preven t  dirt   and   water
from  enterin g  the tran saxle  after  checking  or  rep len -
ish ing  flu id,  make   certain  that   the  dipstick    cap  is
seated  prop erly.
If the  transaxle  is disassem  bled  for any  reason,  the  fluid
and  filter  shou ld be changed  .
Special  Additives
The  manu factu rer  recom mend s against   the  addition   of  7
any fluid  additives  to the  transaxle.  The only  excep tion to
this  policy  is the  use  of special  dyes  to  aid  in  detecting
fluid  leaks.   The  use  of  transm ission  sealers   shou ld  be
avoid ed  as they  may  adversely  affect  seals.
