successful enginestart,theenginemayturnoffand
operateintheAutoStopmode.Someofthevehicle
conditions thatallowtheenginetostoprunningand
entertheAutoStopmodeare:

Thehoodisclosed.
Thegearselector  isinP(Park),R(Reverse),
N(Neutral) orD(Drive).
Exitingthevehicle,  withoutfirstshifting into
P(Park),maycausethevehicletomove,andyou
orotherscanbeseriously   injured. Becausethe
vehiclehastheAutomatic  EngineStart/Stop
feature,thevehicle’senginemightseemtobe
shutoffwhenyoucometoacomplete    stop.
However,oncethebrakepedalisreleased,    the
vehiclecanmove.Thevehicle’senginecanalso
restartatanytime.

Thehybridbatteryisatanacceptable    stateof
charge.
Thehybridbatteryvoltage,  temperature orpower
limitsarenotexceeded.  Inveryhotconditions,
AutoStopmaybeunavailable   untilthehybrid
batteryhascooled.

ShifttoP(Park)andturntheignition    to
LOCK/OFF,beforeexitingthevehicle.
ThevehiclemayenterAutoStopafteraremote
