brakefirmlyset.Thevehiclecanroll.Ifyouhave
lefttheenginerunning,  thevehiclecanmove
suddenly.Youorotherscouldbeinjured.    Tobe
surethevehiclewillnotmove,evenwhenyouare
onfairlylevelground,usethestepsthatfollow.
Withfour-wheel drive,ifthetransfer  caseisin
N(Neutral), thevehiclewillbefreetoroll,evenif
theshiftleverisinP(Park).So,besurethe
transfercaseisinadrivegear—notin
4. Turntheignition  keytoLOCK/OFF.
5.
Removethekeyandtakeitwithyou.Ifyoucan
leavethevehiclewiththeignition   keyinyourhand,
thevehicleisinP(Park).
N(Neutral). Ifyouarepullingatrailer,seeTowing
aTraileronpage5‑8.
