aheavyload,youmaynoticeanincrease    intheeffortto
shiftoutofP(Park).See“Shifting    IntoP(Park)”inthe
Indexofvehicle's  ownermanualformoreinformation.
{WARNING:
IfyouhaveFour-Wheel  Drive,thevehiclewillbe
freetoroll—eveniftheshiftleverisin
P(Park)—ifthetransfer   caseisinNeutral.  So,be
surethetransfercaseisinadrivegear,

orFour-Wheel DriveLow—notinNeutral.   See
“ShiftingIntoPark”intheOwnerManual.
Itisdangerous  togetoutofthevehicleiftheshift
leverisnotfullyinP(Park)withtheparkingbrake
firmlyset.Thevehiclecanroll.
Donotleavethevehiclewhentheengineis
runningunlessyouhaveto.Ifyouhaveleftthe
enginerunning, thevehiclecanmovesuddenly.
Youorotherscouldbeinjured.   Tobesurethe
vehiclewillnotmove,evenwhenyouareonfairly
levelground,alwayssettheparkingbrakeand
movetheshiftlevertoP(Park).SeeShifting     Into
ParkintheOwnerManual.Ifyouarepullinga
trailer,seeTowingaTraileronpage5‑8.
R(Reverse): Usethisgeartobackup.
Notice: Shifting toR(Reverse) whilethevehicleis
movingforwardcoulddamagethetransmission.
Therepairswouldnotbecoveredbythevehicle
warranty.ShifttoR(Reverse)  onlyafterthevehicle
isstopped.
