Itisunusualforatiretoblowoutwhileyouaredriving,
especially ifyoumaintain yourtiresproperly.See“Tires”
intheIndexoftheownermanual.Ifairgoesoutofa
tire,itismuchmorelikelytoleakoutslowly.But,ifyou
shouldeverhaveablowout,hereareafewtipsabout
whattoexpectandwhattodo:
Whenrotating yourtires,alwaysusethecorrectrotation
patternshownhere.
Afterthetireshavebeenrotated, adjustthefrontand
rearinflation pressures asshownontheTireand
LoadingInformation label.See“LoadingYourVehicle”
intheIndexoftheownermanualforanexampleofthe
labelanditslocation onyourvehicle.
Ifafronttirefails,theflattirewillcreateadragthatpulls
thevehicletowardthatside.Takeyourfootoffthe
accelerator pedalandgripthesteering wheelfirmly.
Steertomaintainlaneposition, andthengentlybraketo
astopwelloutofthetrafficlane.
TheTirePressureMonitorSystem(TPMS)sensorswill
needtoberesetafteratirerotation. See“TPMSSensor
Identification Codes”under“TirePressureMonitor
Operation”.
Arearblowout,particularly onacurve,actsmuchlikea
skidandmayrequirethesamecorrection youwould
useinaskid.Inanyrearblowout,removeyourfoot
fromtheaccelerator pedal.Getthevehicleunder
controlbysteering thewayyouwantthevehicletogo.
Itmaybeverybumpyandnoisy,butyoucanstillsteer.
Gentlybraketoastop,wellofftheroadifpossible.
Makecertainthatallwheelnutsareproperly tightened.
