Iftheengineisrunning,   verifythatthetransfer
caseisinN(Neutral)  byshiftingthetransmission
toR(Reverse) foronesecond,thenshiftthe
transmission toD(Drive)foronesecond.
4. Releasetheparkingbrakepriortomovingthe
vehicle.
Notice: Shifting thetransmission intogearbefore
theFour-Wheel DriveLowindicator  lighthas
stoppedflashing coulddamagethetransfer  case.
Tohelpavoiddamaging  thevehicle, alwayswaitfor
theFour-Wheel DriveLowindicator  lighttostop
flashing beforeshiftingthetransmission  intogear.
Turntheignition  toACC/ACCESSORY,whichwill
turntheengineoff.

Placethetransmission  shiftleverinP(Park).

Releasetheparkingbrakepriortomovingthe
vehicle.

Starttheengineandshiftthetransmission    tothe
desiredposition.

Turntheignition  toLOCK/OFF.
Excessively shifting thetransfer caseintooroutofthe
different modesmaycausethetransfer  casetoenter
theshiftprotection  mode.Thiswillprotectthetransfer
casefrompossibledamageandwillonlyallowthe
transfer casetorespondtooneshiftper10seconds.
Thetransfer casemaystayinthismodeforupto
threeminutes.
ShiftingOutofNeutral
ToshiftthetransfercaseoutofN(Neutral):
1.
2.
3.
Settheparkingbrakeandapplytheregularbrake
pedal.
Turntheignition  toON/RUNwiththeengineoff,
andshiftthetransmission  toN(Neutral).
Turnthetransfercasedialtothedesiredtransfer
caseshiftposition  (Two-WheelDriveHigh,
Four-Wheel DriveHigh,AUTO).
Afterthetransfer  casehasshiftedoutof
N(Neutral), theN(Neutral) lightwillgoout.
