Theoptionaltheft-deterrentsystemis
designedtopreventyourvehicleorits
contentsfrombeingstolenwhenallthe
doors,hood,andtrunklid/liftgate/hatch
arelocked.
qHowtoArmtheSystem
1.
Removethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
Ifforcibleentryisattempted,thesystem
soundsthehornandflashesthehazard
warninglights.
2. Closethehood.Thencloseandlockall
doorsandthetrunklid/liftgate/hatch
fromtheoutsideusingthekeyorpress
thelockbuttononyourkeylessentry
systemtransmitter.Thehazardwarning
lightswillflashoncetoindicatethat
thesystemisarmed.
NOTE
Thetheft-deterrentsystemoperates
l
withthekeyorthekeylessentry
systemtransmitter.
Thefollowingmethodwillalsoarmthe
theft-deterrentsystem:
Closethehoodandthetrunklid/
liftgate/hatch.Presstheareaonthe
door-lockswitchmarked“LOCK”
once.Closealldoors.
Thesystemwillnotfunctionunless
itisproperlyarmed.Toproperly
securethevehicle,alwaysmakesure
allthewindowsarecompletely
closedandalldoorsandthetrunk
lid/liftgate/hatcharelockedbefore
leavingthevehicle.Rememberto
takeyourkeyandtransmitter.

Lockingthedoorswiththeinsidedoor-
lockknobwillnotarmthesystem.

Systemtriggeringconditions
qToTurnoffanArmedSystem
Thehornsoundsintermittentlyandthe
hazardwarninglightsflashforabout3
minuteswhenthesystemistriggeredby
anyoneofthefollowing:
Anarmedsystemcanbeturnedoffbyany
oneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoorwiththekey.

Forcingopenadoor,thehoodorthe
trunklid/liftgate/hatch.
l
Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
entrysystemtransmitter.
l
Openingadoor,thehoodorthetrunk
l
Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch
andturnittotheONposition.
l
lidbyoperatinganinsidedoor-lock
knob,thehoodreleasehandleorthe
trunklidreleasebutton.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflashtwice
toindicatethatthesystemisturnedoff.
