WARNING
Whentheenginehasnotbeenrunning
andtheoutsidetemperatureisabout20°C
SuddenVehicleMovement:
Shiftingtheshiftleverwithoutfirst
depressingthebrakepedalis
dangerous.Thevehiclecouldmove
suddenlyandcauseanaccident.
Makesurethebrakepedalisapplied
beforeshiftingtheshiftlever.
(70°F),
thefluidlevelshouldbecloseto,
butnotabove,thebottomnotchonthe
dipstick.
CAUTION
Usethecoldscaleonlyasa
l
reference.

Withtheenginestillidling,pulloutthe
dipstick,wipeitclean,andputitback.
Ifoutsidetemperatureislowerthan

about20°C(70°F),starttheengine
andinspectthefluidlevelafterthe
enginereachesoperating
temperature.
5.
Pullitoutagain.
Theproperfluidlevelismarkedonthe
dipstickasfollows.

Ifthevehiclehasbeendrivenforan

extendedperiodathighspeedsorin
citytrafficinhotweather,inspectthe
levelonlyafterstoppingtheengine
andallowingthefluidtocoolfor30
minutes.

Fullyinsertthedipstick.Whenadding
fluid,inspectwiththedipsticktomake
sureitdoesn'tpassfull.

about65°C(150°F),thelevelmustbe
betweenFullandLow.
Inspectthefluidonbothsidesofthe
dipstickinawelllitareaforanaccurate
reading.
