whiletheengineisrunningorhotis
dangerous.Thismightleadtocooling
systemandenginedamageandcould
resultinseriousinjuryfromescaping
hotcoolantorsteam.Turnoffthe
engineandwaituntilit'scool.Even
then,beverycarefulwhenremoving
thecap.
Tighten
Loosen
Wrapathickclotharoundthecapand
slowlyturnitcounterclockwisetothe
firststop(3.0-literengine)orabout
twoandahalfrotations(2.3-liter
engine).
Stepbackwhilethepressureescapes.
Whenyou'resureallthepressureis
gone,pressdownonthecap(3.0-liter
engine)―stillusingacloth―turn
thecap,andremoveit.

Onlywhentheengineiscool,remove
theradiatordrainpluganddrainthe
coolantintoasuitablecontainer.
Properlydisposeoftheusedcoolant.
3. Flushoutthesystemwithrunning
water.

Drainthesystemcompletely.Insertand
tightentheplug.Addasmuch
ethylene-glycol-basedcoolantmixture
andwaterasnecessarytoprovide
freezingandcorrosionprotection.

Inextremelycoldclimates,addthe
mixturepercentagerecommendedin
thecoolantmixturepercentagetable.
